AI Policy

I abide by the idea that "less AI is better", though I am not for a complete AI ban (yet). The policy below applies to how I use AI in the mentioned areas (writing, art) in daily life, but may not necessarily reflect how I use AI on this site - in that I will never use more AI than what's outlined below. For example, while I may ask AI about random ideas in daily life, I may not actually use AI at all for any of the work on this site.
In writing: The only times I use AI are during the brainstorming and ideation process. Once I have established an idea or details (oftentimes without the use of any AI), the rest of the work is done solely using my brain.

I do:
- ask AI for ideas occasionally
- ask AI whether a specific idea I want to convey in a piece of writing is effective (usually for nonfiction material)

I do not:
- ask AI to help me write an entire scene or story (what would be the point 💀)
- ask AI to help me write parts of anything
- ask AI to help me reorganize or edit anything
In art: All cover designs are done by me. For images, I generally use public domain or Creative Commons licensed work, and I do my best to ensure the pictures I use are not AI-generated. (For example, sites such as Pixabay or Adobe Express allow users to exclude GenAI images from search results, though this depends on the original author marking the image as generated by AI. Any usage of AI-generated images by me is accidental and nonintentional - feel free to email and let me know to change it!) If future covers include artwork, I plan to have these comissioned from a real artist or done by me (neither of which I am capable of doing yet).

- occasionally use AI-generated art or designs as references only

- directly use AI-generated art, or modified AI-generated art, in my designs
Basically, I look at AI-generated art and designs as if I were looking at a piece in a museum, then go off and do my own work.
